McLEAN, Va. - President Bush's appearance at a Republican National Committee reception Tuesday boosted his fundraising total for the year to $66 million.

More than 100 people attended the evening fundraiser, which raised $750,000 for the RNC.

The event in McLean, an upscale Washington suburb, was closed to reporters. {as before}

According to the RNC, Bush has appeared at 28 fundraising events so far this year, raising $65,966,000 for Republican candidates.

May 28th 2008McCain and George Bush got together behind closed doors in Phoenix last night. They're hoping to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Republican Party without scrutiny.
update: they raised $3.5 mill from Bush's oil-energy cartel.

This is the same John McCain who is trying to convince the American people he's "Mr. Reformer" when it comes to campaign financing. But when it comes to raising millions for his campaign, he's falling all over himself to have George Bush as his best friend.

John McCain and the Republican National Committee are desperately working to get as much in the bank as they can before a.s.a.p. -- time is running out.

John McCain knows he needs George Bush for the money, and George Bush needs John McCain for his legacy. The McCain campaign had the fundraiser closed to the press to avoid any incriminating photos, but we know what's going on.
